Citizen, a leading global print technology brand, has introduced a new range of thermal receipt POS printers and barcode label printers to the Bangladeshi market. The launch includes two key models: the CT-D150 thermal receipt printer and the CL-E321 barcode label printer—both now available through Star Tech, a major electronics distributor. The thermal receipt printer, CT-D150, is intended for use in retail and hospitality settings. It operates at a high speed of 250 mm per second, delivering clear 203 dpi prints. Equipped with features like auto-cutter, USB and serial connectivity, and energy-saving modes, this compact printer is suitable for space-constrained settings. The label printer CL-E321 uses two types of printing methods: thermal transfer and direct thermal printing. With a print resolution of 203 dpi and speeds reaching 200 mm per second, it handles media widths up to 4 inches. The device supports multiple interfaces—USB, RS-232, and Ethernet—and its clamshell design simplifies media loading. Packed with 32 MB RAM and 16 MB flash memory, it also supports barcode symbologies like QR codes and GS1-Databar. These Citizen printers offer versatile use across different industries. The CT-D150 can print receipts quickly, making it ideal for retail checkouts or hospitality counters. Meanwhile, the CL-E321 printer is suited for logistics, warehousing, or healthcare settings, where accurate barcode labeling is essential. Their reliability, print clarity, and connectivity options make them compatible with many business ecosystems. Citizen’s entry into Bangladesh aligns with the increasing demand for digital point-of-sale systems and dependable labeling solutions. By providing easy market access through Star Tech, the company ensures that small businesses and larger enterprises alike can upgrade their operations affordably. Notably, prices have been set at around Tk 15,000 for the receipt printer and Tk 37,000 for the label printer, making them attractive options for SME-scale applications. Globally, Citizen is respected for engineering robust printers for a wide range of sectors—retail, food service, logistics, and healthcare. Models like the CL-S700III and CT-S801III released at the 2024 NRF show feature advanced user interfaces and functionality, underscoring the brand’s commitment to innovation. Their local product rollout demonstrates an ambition to bring this global expertise to the Bangladeshi market. By launching reliable and efficient printing solutions locally, Citizen supports a shift toward smarter business operations. Whether for printing receipts at a restaurant checkout or barcoding medical supplies, these printers are designed to simplify workflows and enhance productivity.
