3-Day International Textile Expo Begins at ICCB

by Bangladesh in Focus

The three-day international textile sourcing show opened its doors at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on June 25. Now in its 16th edition, the expo brings together over 125 companies from more than ten countries. It provides an energetic space where buyers, suppliers, and manufacturers can display a variety of products, including clothing, textiles, technical fabrics, and eco-friendly materials. The event’s opening ceremony featured prominent figures, including the Commerce Secretary, Mahbubur Rahman, and the Chairman of the Export Promotion Bureau, Md Anwar Hossain. During his speech, the Commerce Secretary emphasized Bangladesh’s shift from being merely a volume producer to emerging as a global hub for sustainable, value-added apparel manufacturing. He noted that investments in innovation, compliance, and workforce skills have positioned the country to lead in responsible fashion sourcing. This year’s expo includes dedicated pavilions from India, China, South Korea, Thailand, and Japan. These showcasing areas feature offerings such as cotton blends, eco-friendly performance textiles, garment trims, premium shirting, and advanced woven products. Bangladeshi exhibitors are showcasing innovations in knitwear, denim, and vertically integrated production systems. The broad international participation illustrates the country’s growing linkages within the global supply chain. An interactive business forum forms a key part of the expo. The first session explores how artificial intelligence is being integrated into textile production and fashion design. The second session focuses on how global tariff changes and trade shifts are influencing exports. These thoughtful forums offer industry leaders a chance to exchange insights and explore collaborative opportunities. Beyond exhibitions and discussions, the show includes B2B meetings and networking events designed to foster partnerships. Company delegates have access to curated meetings with international buyers, providing a focused environment to explore business linkages and extend sourcing relations. This event reflects Bangladesh’s ambition to evolve into a high-value textile and apparel center. Organizers, including the Export Promotion Bureau and trade associations, are committed to promoting sustainable production, innovative textiles, and export diversification. Through initiatives like this expo, the country underscores its dedication to delivering quality and environmentally responsible textile solutions. In summary, the 16th edition of the international textile expo presents a dynamic venue for industry players from around the world. With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and strategic partnerships, the event highlights Bangladesh’s evolving role in global textile sourcing. Over the next three days, manufacturers, buyers, and policymakers will leverage the expo’s potential to forge deals, explore new trends, and strengthen international trade networks.
