Speakers and young researchers gathered at Khulna University of Engineering & Technology for the opening of the 7th International Conference on Electrical, Information and Communication Technology, and the event made it clear that technology will play a vital role in building a smart Bangladesh. The Secretary of the ICT Division joined virtually and urged wider use of artificial intelligence, robotics, and information technology to lift local ideas onto the international stage. The university vice chancellor and conference leaders highlighted that steady research is the only way to keep pace with global change and that the results of good studies can help solve problems in industry. Organizers said the conference will run for three days with many experts taking part in sessions that focus on modern research and practical challenges. The event is supported by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and several hundred researchers from home and abroad will attend. Over one thousand technical papers were submitted from fifteen countries and judges selected one hundred and forty two papers to be presented across twenty five technical sessions. Presenters come from places such as the United States, France, Japan, Canada, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, India, and Bangladesh, bringing a mix of ideas and local knowledge. The program aims to match research with real needs, showing how new methods can improve energy use, boost communication systems, and make factories and services more reliable. For students and early career researchers, the conference offers a strong chance to showcase work, get feedback from senior engineers, and meet potential partners for future projects. Panel talks and technical sessions will give simple steps that teachers and students can follow to make their studies more useful to business and to the wider community. Organizers expect that links made at the meeting will lead to joint projects, shared testing of ideas, and more internships for students. The technical committee and organizing chairs have worked to shape a program that is clear and useful, and the friendly tone of the event aims to encourage people to keep learning and trying new things. By sharing knowledge, building new links, and focusing on practical results, the conference hopes to turn good research into useful tools that help industry grow while giving young researchers the support they need to move their ideas forward. The conference will also include hands on workshops and poster sessions that let participants show devices and prototypes in person, which can make ideas easier to understand and test quickly. Speakers urged universities and companies to work together to run pilot projects and to bring proven solutions to towns and rural areas so that more people can see direct benefits from new technology.
