INSPIRATION, a leadership and knowledge-sharing event organized by Textile Focus and presented by Dongyi Sourcing Limited with support from Eurofins Consumer Product Testing Bangladesh, gathered more than six hundred industry professionals and final year students at the Noorul Quader Auditorium in BGMEA Bhaban, Uttara, Dhaka, to spark fresh ideas for Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector. The event opened with short welcoming remarks and a promise to give young people clear, usable advice for building careers. Mijanur Rahman, vice president (Finance) of BGMEA and managing director and CEO of Fashion Power Group, shared his personal story of rising through the industry and stressed steady learning, disciplined work and smart financial planning. Md Mofazzal Hosen Pavel, president of BGBA and managing director of Dongyi Sourcing Ltd., said the group works to brand Bangladesh worldwide and that inspiring future leaders is part of its social responsibility. Ananta Jalil, chairman and managing director of AJI Group, expressed happiness to see graduating students joining the sector and urged them to keep learning about new technology and innovation so they can lead on the global stage. Other speakers offered practical tips on sustainable production, quality control, export readiness and career planning, using simple examples and real workplace lessons that attendees could start to apply straight away. The programme included a special reception for Mohammad Abbas Uddin Shiyak, winner of the Global Change Award from the H&M Foundation, and Mohammad Ashraful Islam, editor of Textile Focus and CEO of Marketo Services, also served as host. Short greetings came from company leaders and partners such as Christo Craig of Dongyi Sourcing, Dipok Ghosh of Eurofins Consumer Product Testing Bangladesh, S M Shohel Rana of Denim Solutions Limited, Shakhawat Hossain of DBL Group, Ismail Cakir of Delta Kimya and Md Zahidul Islam Yuvraj of Pakiza Software. Sponsors and partners included Denim Solutions Ltd. as sponsor, ECO Threads and Yarns as sustainability partner, Delta Kimya as knowledge partner and Pakiza Software as technology partner. Organisers said Textile Focus has worked for ten years to support research, development and promotion for the textile sector, and that events like INSPIRATION aim to encourage practical skills, sustainability and creative thinking among the next generation. The event created networking slots and short Q&A sessions where students asked about internships and the skills employers want. Speakers underscored soft skills, digital literacy and sustainable materials, and organisers said similar events will follow to help young people connect with mentors and employers. Many left feeling encouraged and ready to seek new training and roles.
