Huawei announces ‘Seeds for Future Bangladesh’ winners

by Bangladesh in Focus

Huawei, a leading technology company, has recently announced the talented university students from Bangladesh who are the winners of its special program called ‘Seeds for the Future Bangladesh 2025’. This exciting initiative is all about finding and helping young minds who are passionate about information and communication technology, or ICT. The program aims to build a strong base of tech experts in Bangladesh and help the country move forward in the digital world. This year’s competition was especially tough, drawing interest from around 3,000 university students from across the nation, all eager to showcase their abilities. The journey for these young talents began with a careful review of many applications. From these, 60 bright students were chosen to join an intensive training camp. During this bootcamp, they learned about cutting-edge topics such as 5G technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital power, along with important business strategies. This phase was designed to boost their knowledge and practical skills through written tests, presentations, and working together on team projects. After these initial assessments, 21 students showed outstanding potential and moved on to the final round. In the exciting final stage, these students received more guidance from experienced trainers. Their main task was to create their own business ideas that used technology to solve real-world problems and bring positive changes to society. A group of specialists thoroughly examined these suggestions. This panel included university professors, representatives from UNESCO (which is a key partner in this program), past participants of the ‘Seeds for the Future’ program, and experts from Huawei. Based on their innovative ideas and presentations, eight students were finally selected as the top winners for 2025. These eight bright young individuals will now have an incredible opportunity to travel to China. There, they will get to experience further advanced training and take part in a global competition called ‘Tech4Good’. This global exposure will give them even deeper insights into the world of technology and allow them to connect with other talented young people from around the world. The ‘Seeds for the Future’ program has been running in Bangladesh for the 12th year now, showing Huawei’s long-term commitment to nurturing digital talent in the country. Leaders from Huawei and UNESCO have praised the winners, noting their skills, energy, and dedication. They believe that these young men and women have the potential to make big contributions to Bangladesh’s digital advancement and shape its future. Globally, this program has helped over 18,000 students from 141 countries, creating a large network of future tech leaders. Such initiatives are crucial for empowering the youth with the right skills and opportunities, ultimately helping Bangladesh achieve its vision of a smarter and more connected future for everyone.
