CEMS-Global’s New Expos Put Bangladesh at the Heart of Construction, Energy and Water Innovation

by Bangladesh in Focus

Dhaka hosted a major international trade exhibition series that put construction, energy and water solutions together in one busy venue and gave local firms, foreign exhibitors and policymakers a practical place to meet, learn and make deals. The opening ceremony, led by Meherun N. Islam of CEMS-Global, brought senior officials, industry experts and development partners together, showing wide support for projects that can improve housing, infrastructure, power systems and water services across the country. The Build Series marked three decades of bringing builders, developers and design firms to Bangladesh and highlighted innovations in materials, construction technology, interior design and modern housing that can help meet rising urban demand. The Power Series drew attention to power generation, renewable energy and advanced lighting solutions, with solar and energy transition themes that match national plans to expand clean energy. The Water Expo focused on water management, wastewater treatment, desalination and smart systems, offering practical tools for cities and utilities that need to protect supplies and lower pollution. More than two hundred exhibitors from over twenty countries filled roughly five hundred booths and pavilions, and leading local brands such as Walton, ACI, Rahimafrooz, Omera and SSG used the stage to show new products and services. A set of seminars and conferences ran alongside the displays, with sessions on sustainable architecture, green building practices, energy efficiency, skills development and new financing models like corporate power purchase agreements; many sessions were organized with GIZ Bangladesh to link international know-how with local goals. An “Architecture of Resilience” digital showcase presented award-winning designs from the past two decades to inspire resilient, climate-aware building practices. Organizers noted that regular, well-run exhibitions help buyers and suppliers build trust, speed up deals and spark partnerships that can become long-term projects. Travel, courier and cargo support came from Bengal Airlift Limited, helping exhibitors and samples move smoothly. For a country where construction accounts for a large share of economic activity and where clean energy and safe water are growing priorities, the combined expos offered a timely platform to accelerate investment, share technical skills, and pave the way for cleaner, stronger infrastructure. Industry leaders said the event strengthened Bangladesh’s position as a regional hub for industrial innovation and gave smaller firms a chance to connect with global partners, while also pointing to clear next steps: more skills training, sustained partnerships and continued focus on sustainable, resilient projects that benefit communities and the economy. Organizers expected over thirty-five thousand trade visitors, creating strong chances for immediate orders, pilot projects and skills partnerships, and exhibitors said they hoped the contacts made here would turn into concrete contracts, training programs and joint ventures that raise local capacity and create lasting jobs and support sustainable economic growth.
