Why has it taken me this long to enter Bangladesh?

by Bangladesh in Focus

Honestly speaking, I’ve been thinking a lot about that. It’s a question I’ve asked myself more than once — and I think it’s time we talk about it openly.

The truth is, one of the biggest reasons is the pace. Or more specifically, the lack of urgency that I’ve seen over and over again.

Now, don’t get me wrong — I love Bangladesh. I believe in the people, the energy, the culture, and the potential.

But if we’re being real with ourselves, we have to admit that as a country, we’ve developed a bit of a reputation for being laid-back when it comes to getting things done.

This isn’t meant as a criticism — it’s more of a wake-up call. Because I say this with love and with hope.

We need to acknowledge that, as a nation, we tend to drag our feet. We delay. We overthink. We wait for the “right” time, the “perfect” plan, or someone else to take the first step.

Meanwhile, the rest of the world is moving fast — really fast. And they’re not going to slow down and wait for us to catch up.

We’re living in an age where speed matters more than ever. Ideas are born and executed within days.

Startups go global in a year. Technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship are reshaping everything — and timing is everything.

If we want to be part of that conversation, we need to bring urgency to the table.

Not stress, not chaos — but focused, intentional action. Every day. Without excuses.

And that’s where I struggled when thinking about launching in Bangladesh. The talent is here, the ambition is here, the hunger is here — but the execution?

That’s where we’re falling short. Things that should take days take weeks. Things that should take weeks stretch into months. And eventually, opportunities fade away.

We’ve become comfortable waiting. Comfortable with “let’s see.” But let me say this clearly — we can’t afford to keep hitting the snooze button on our future.

If we snooze, we lose. Simple as that.

The good news? We can flip this script. We can break out of this slow, reactive mindset and adopt a new approach — one that’s proactive, agile, and forward-thinking.

One that doesn’t wait for someone else to get started, but instead takes the lead. That kind of shift doesn’t happen overnight, but it starts with awareness.

It starts with conversations like this one. And more importantly, it starts with us — choosing every day to move with purpose.

That’s exactly why I decided to finally launch here. Not just to enter the market, but to try and spark something bigger.

I created Bangladesh inFocus not only as a space to bring business insights, but as a space to connect, collaborate, and inspire action.

I want this to be a place where ideas flow freely, where people can share knowledge, and where innovation is not just talked about — but executed.

This platform is about creating a community that moves together, thinks big, and acts fast. A community that holds each other accountable, celebrates progress, and learns through doing.

Because if we really want to put Bangladesh on the map — not just regionally, but globally — we need to step up our game. We need to operate with intention, with clarity, and yes — with urgency.

I’m not saying we need to lose our culture or our sense of balance. That’s what makes us unique.

But we do need to match our creativity and passion with discipline and speed. We need to move from potential to performance — and the only way to do that is to shift our mindset.

It’s not about working harder — it’s about working smarter and faster.

It’s about seeing an opportunity and acting on it now, not later. It’s about taking initiative, showing up, and staying consistent.

That’s how successful businesses are built. That’s how countries grow. That’s how movements begin.

I know we can do this. I’ve met so many bright, driven, capable people in Bangladesh — people with bold ideas and incredible vision.

Now, imagine what we could do if all of that talent was matched with urgency and execution.

Imagine the momentum we could build. Imagine the global impact we could have.

And now, with Hedge Capital Partners working side by side with CodesBreak, a leading IT and software development company with offices in Japan, Bangladesh, USA and UK the opportunity to build starts now.

This is the kind of collaboration that creates real movement — combining capital, talent, technology, and the drive to move quickly and effectively.

This isn’t just a business decision for me — it’s personal. I believe in this country. I believe in the future we can create.

But it starts with us choosing to do things differently. Choosing to be bold. Choosing to act now. Choosing to lead.

So let’s make that choice.

Let’s stop waiting. Let’s start building.

Let’s stop talking and start doing.

Because the future isn’t going to wait for us — and honestly, we shouldn’t be waiting for it either.

The time is now. Let’s get to work.
