In a significant boost to Bangladesh-China educational ties, 80 Bangladeshi students have been awarded full scholarships by the Chinese government for higher studies in 2024. The announcement was made at a scholarship awarding ceremony held at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Dhaka, underscoring the growing academic collaboration between the two nations. These scholarships, which are part of China’s annual global scholarship program, cover a range of academic levels—including undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies—across various disciplines. Selected students will pursue their education at top Chinese universities, gaining access to advanced research facilities, global networks, and cross-cultural learning environments. During the ceremony, Yao Wen, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, offered his congratulations to the award recipients. He emphasized the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and China and encouraged students to become bridges of understanding between the two countries. “This scholarship serves as a meaningful contribution to education, representing trust and collaboration. We anticipate that the recipients will come back to Bangladesh enriched with knowledge and a wider perspective, enabling them to aid in their country’s growth,” he remarked. Numerous award winners expressed their appreciation for this chance, highlighting that their studies in China will expose them to advanced technology, diverse viewpoints, and high standards in academics. The selection process was reportedly rigorous, ensuring that only the most deserving candidates received the scholarships.
